New conditions for retirement

From 1 January 2023 new conditions for retirement and early retirement are in force, in accordance with the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance (“LPDI“)

Traditionally, the difference in the conditions that apply to men and women is maintained, but this concept is gradually relieved and abandoned. Amendments to the LPDI from 2014 stipulate that the conditions for obtaining the right for retirement will be firmer for women, so that in the period from 2015 to 2020 the age limit for women will be moved by six months, and from 2021 to 2031 by two months, so by 2032 the conditions would be equal for both genders.

Therefore, from 1 January 2023, the age limit for women has moved by two months compared to the previous year and now represents 63 years and six months and at least 15 years of pensionable service. The limit for men remains unchanged and it is at least 65 years and 15 years of pensionable service.

Further the limit for early retirement has moved, so that from 1 January 2023 the age limit for women is at least 59 years and six months and 40 years of pensionable service, while for men the limit remains unchanged and it is at least 60 years and 40 years of pensionable service. The conditions for early retirement will be equal for both genders by 2024.
