According to unofficial information, the planned renovation of the building of the Third Basic Court on Bulevar Mihajla Pupina will result in the temporary relocation of its Civil and Criminal Departments. The Civil Department will be moved from Tošin Bunar street to the former premises of the Tax Administration at Despota Stefana street no. 118–120, while the Criminal Department will be relocated from Bulevar Mihajla Pupina to the Tax Administration building on Tošin Bunar.
This reorganization will bring significant changes for the residents of Novi Beograd, Zemun and Surčin, as they will have to attend civil hearings on Palilula. At the same time, the Civil Department of the First Basic Court, which has jurisdiction over the municipalities of Palilula, Stari Grad, Zvezdara, Savski venac, and Vračar, will remain at Bulevar Nikole Tesle on Novi Beograd, meaning that residents of central municipalities will still have to travel to Novi Beograd for court proceedings.
The distribution of courts across Belgrade has long posed a challenge, as basic courts operate from multiple buildings in various locations. The First Basic Court utilizes premises in Katanićeva street and on Novi Beograd, while the Second Basic Court operates from buildings in Katanićeva and Savska streets. The Third Basic Court currently functions from facilities on Tošin Bunar and Bulevar Mihajla Pupina. This dispersal of court locations further complicates access for citizens and their lawyers, especially given traffic congestion and limited parking availability.
